Quiet Your Mind

ARE YOU LIVING, OR JUST SURVIVING?

When was the last time you got through an entire day without worrying about something?

Without questioning whether you've upset someone. Without replaying something you said. Without feeling guilty for saying no or worrying that you've let somebody down.

You spend so much time trying to keep everyone else happy, making sure nobody's upset, nobody's disappointed and you've done everything right.

But what about you?

How much of your life have you spent putting yourself last, worrying about things that haven't even happened and feeling like you're never quite doing enough?

You're so used to living this way that you don't even question it anymore.

But just because it's become normal doesn't mean it's how you have to spend the rest of your life.

Imagine how different your days could be if you no longer felt responsible for everybody else's happiness.

If you could finally give yourself the same freedom, kindness and consideration you've spent years giving everybody else.

Because you deserve to enjoy your life, not just get through it.

MY STORY

I don't remember a time when I wasn't struggling with normal everyday life. Things everyone else just seemed to be able to do. How could I become an engineer, but not keep on top of my washing?

I would work out where every penny needed to go, then somehow spend the same money three times and end up walking around the supermarket with £18 in my bank account and a calculator. Money put aside got forgotten and spent. Parking tickets got shoved into drawers and letters came through the door that I couldn't face opening. Cooking and food shopping felt overwhelming. At one point my washing piled up so much it took over an entire room.

I knew what I needed to do. I wanted to do it. But burnout and paralysis would take over.

At weekends, I would put on my magic alcohol jacket. Suddenly I was confident, loud and sociable. I fit in. I had friends and I felt accepted as me. The only problem was, that wasn't the real me. Then Monday came, the jacket came off and I went back to fitting myself into a box I didn't fit.

I would find a new job, a new career, a new plan. This one would be the one. I would get organised, sort my finances out and get my life together. And for a while, I would. Then somehow I would end up right back where I started.

People around me were buying houses, building businesses and starting families. Once again, I was carrying my belongings back into my childhood bedroom wondering how I had ended up back there.

THEN I FINALLY UNDERSTOOD WHY.

Eventually I was diagnosed with ADHD and Autism. Suddenly, so much of my life made sense. But understanding why didn't actually change anything.

I tried the planners. The coaches. The medication. All the things that were supposed to help. But I was still stuck. I still overthought everything, doubted myself and replayed conversations. It felt like I had a hundred tabs open in my brain at once.

That's when I started looking underneath it all, at the beliefs, emotions and experiences still shaping how I thought, felt and reacted. And when I started changing those patterns, my life started changing too.

My mind got quieter. Instead of a hundred tabs open in my brain, now there's usually just one. Well, maybe two or three.

I can focus on one thing at a time. I can start something and actually finish it. I cross things off my to-do lists instead of writing another bloody list. I remember things more and I trust myself more. Things that had always felt ridiculously difficult started feeling easier.

For the first time, I wasn't just learning how to cope with the patterns. I was changing what had been driving them.

And that's where PANGA came from.

I didn't want to create another way of coping with what's happening on the surface. I wanted to work with what's underneath it. Because sometimes the thing you're fighting isn't the real problem. Sometimes it's what's underneath it that needs to change.
